About the event
Spring Cleanse with Ayurveda March 6th, 10:30 am to 12:30 am Sign Up Required, $35 (No drop ins) In person only Learn how to transition from the Winter (vata season) into the Spring (Kapha season) with food, yoga, breathing (Pranayama) and daily self care practices that are beneficial during this seasonal change. This workshop will discuss Ayurveda's system of living in sync with nature and the change of seasons. You will learn what happens in nature and in you during the Spring season, what foods to eat (and avoid), what yoga and breathing practices are beneficial during this time, and daily self care practices that will help you transition and cleanse the body. You will also learn about kitchari, a recipe consisting of rice, moong dal beans and spices that assist in Ayurvedic cleansing/detoxification. Kitchari is extremely nourishing and helps to reboot your body's system. You will enjoy a sample yoga and breathing practice for the Spring and be able to try a taste of Kitchari if you would like! Â You will take home directions on how to make kitchari and how to do a 4 day cleanse. Â Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga. It is one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems and was developed thousands of years ago in India. It's based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit.Â
